Who we are

Britannia Energy Services Ltd (“we”, “us”) is the controller of your personal data. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@britanniaenergyservices.com or by post at the address below.

What we collect

• Quote requests: your name, email address, phone number (optional), postcode, the service you are interested in and any notes you add.
• Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
• Survey and installation details: property address, roof and electrical information, photos and paperwork needed for the job and for MCS, NAPIT and DNO notifications.
• Website usage (only with your consent): pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and whether you arrived from one of our Google adverts. See our cookie policy.
• Technical logs: our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
• To carry out and guarantee your installation, including scheme registrations and warranties: performance of a contract and legal obligation.
• To keep accounts and records required by HMRC and certification schemes: legal obligation.
• To understand and improve the website and measure our adverts: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page.
• To keep the website and our systems secure: our legitimate interests.

We do not sell your data and we do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We only share what each provider needs to do its job for us, under written data processing terms:

• Vercel Inc. (website hosting)
• Supabase Inc. (secure database for quote requests)
• IONOS (business email)
• Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC (Analytics and Ads, only if you accept those cookies)
• WhatsApp / Meta (only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp)
• Certification bodies, your electricity network operator and equipment manufacturers where an installation requires it
• Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge) or by the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to a job: up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Customer and installation records: 6 years after the job, or longer where a product warranty or certification scheme requires it.
• Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@britanniaenergyservices.com and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Security

The website uses HTTPS throughout, quote requests are stored in an access-controlled database, and only authorised staff can see them.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if anything changes and show the date at the top.
